| Sean Dietrich was born in Baltimore, MD and now resides in San Diego, CA. There was much in between. Mixing the raw imagery, power, and controled chaos of an industrial music influence, a very loose, sketchy, assault-with-an-x-acto-knife style, Dietrich has been able to create artwork that shows off an incredible level of bleak and rambunctious emotions. Seans art has been descriped as about as far out in left field as you can go, supernaturaly violent, and willing to take you to places that you really would not wish to tread. Dietrich combines common daily occurances into a twisted, unexpected journey. And while there is some sardonic side of his artwork, nothing is safe from Sean's cynicism and ability to tell a story through the screams and tear filled eyes of his characters. Sean held his first art show at the age of five at his parents engagement party, self published his first comic book at the age of 17, and has not looked back. Books like Industriacide & Fervor, work for Sony Playstation, Cherry Road Films, three years of live painting events, over 58 art awards, and a slew of upcoming projects later, Dietrich is still going strong. And as far as the cast of characters--Strippers, Hookers, Pimps, Druggies, Fry Cooks, Overconfident Businessmen, Hallucinated Teddy Bears, and Men Flushed out of air plane toilets--these are just some of the characters you will be recieving into your home if you indulge in Dietrichs books, so tell the butler to prepare some snacks of Wheat Thins topped with heroine for tonights party, and have him pour up some Bloody Marys, Whiskey chasers, and body bags for the morning. Original style, an unwillingness to hold back from what may offend, and his ability to abandon what is considered PC to pursue a mature look into his self absorbed, arrogant, and oppresive view of the world today has pushed Dietrich into the minds of the willing one at a time, and into the minds of the unwilling by the thousands. |
